Condolences
I caddied for Dr Barr several times at the Springhaven Club! One of the nicest gentlemen you could ever meet! Also a very good golfer, he could hit it a long way!
Dr Barr and I both attended St James High School in Chester , he always asked about what was going on at STJ! God rest his soul!
Dr. Barr was my husband's doctor, then doctor to both of our sons. Dr. Barr saved my husband's life when he made a house call and drove my mother in law and him to the hospital. He had spinal meningitis! He saw us through many sicknesses with both our sons. Words cannot express our gratitude and admiration for such a loving and caring person.
Heaven truly received a Saint on 12/24/13. Dr. Barr was a doctor to me and my three sisters. When asked to attend a meeting with doctors at Jefferson for my daughter who was born 30 years ago, with Spina Bifida, he graciously came and helped us understand what was happening to our daughter. Sadly she passed, but I don't know what doctor would be so caring to do this. God Bless you all. Your husband/father/grandfather was remarkable and will be truly missed.
My deepest sympathy to the family. Hope you can get strength from each other.
To the Barr Family
I am so saddened to hear of Dr Barr' s passing. Being a friend of Dolores' as a young child, living down the street,I witnessed first hand the kindness and generosity of this family and remember Dr Barr as such a kind and gentle man. My sincere condolences to the entire family.
Much love,
Cindy Romanow
Dr Barr was my childhood doctor and was my favorite and most gentle doctor. My prayers go out to his family and friends. RIP Dr Barr
Dr. Barr was my son's pediatrician. His care and medical expertise made a huge difference in my son's life. When we were in the office for an appointment, Dr. Barr always communicated directly with Jim. There would be a quick acknowledgement of the adult, but he would immediately go to the child on the table. His connection with Jim was quick and they would be discussing things, as Doctor examined him. What a amazing man!! My mother, Ann Aigner, truly admired him and revered his many hours of community service to the city of Chester. Heaven is healthier....and our corner of the world lost an amazing healer...
I met Dr. Barr in the hospital parking lot and sat with him in the Clark Auditorium the day Kevin recieved the Emp. of the month award. That was the last time that I saw him. Dr. Barr loved his church, his family and his profession.
His kind and gentle way was evidence of just how much he loved. I thank God for Dr. Barr. Patty Platt
A person who always "knew" you, one of our great neighbor. Someone who cannot be replaced and never forgotten.

Dr. Barr:
I was out of town and missed the service, but I owe my life to Dr. Barr. He saved my life when I was an infant in 1958-59.
He was more than a pediatrician, he was caring and wonderful person. He really took the time to get to know you and to listen.
He was also the pediatrician for my children up until he retired. He saw me up until I graduated from college.
He called me when my oldest daughter Kelli passed away suddently in 2009.
I love Dr. Barr and so did all of my family---especially Mom.
May God bless you, your family and Dr. Barr.
Forever in my thoughts!
Joe Hargadon & Family!
