Obituary of Vance A. LaVanture

Vance A. LaVanture, age 85, of Media, PA, formerly of Brookhaven, PA, died August 31, 2013 at Granite Farms Estate, Media, PA. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth E. Heron in 2004 and his daughter Sandra A. Wassel in 1986. Mr. LaVanture was a US Army Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by PECO for 38 years as a Meter Installer/Trouble Shooter, retiring in 1990. Mr. LaVanture was an active member of the Middletown Presbyterian Church, Media, PA, where he served as a Deacon. Vance was a member and longtime secretary of the Bartram Sand Masonic Lodge #298 F&AM. Vance was a member of the Tall Cedars, Lebanon-Chester, where he was Past Grand Tall, and a member of the Lu Lu Shrine - Delco Chapter. Survivors: Daughter: Dawn Kearny Diggins (Kevin) of Brookhaven, PA Son: Kurt V. LaVanture (Kathleen) of West Grove, PA Brother: Dean S. LaVanture of Glenolden, PA and George LaVanture of Medford Lakes, NJ Also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren Masonic Service: Wednesday at 8:00PM at the funeral home.
