Obituary of Inez Cornelius Mirenda

Inez Cornelius Mirenda, age 86, of Media, PA, died peacefully Thursday, January 31, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Inez was born in Roaring Spring, PA, where she graduated from Roaring Spring High School, Class of 1944. Graduating from Jefferson School of Nursing in 1948, Inez continued to work at Jefferson Hospital, where she met her beloved husband of 62 years, Bill. Inez and Bill moved to Media, PA in 1955. Inez was active in the development and fundraising of Riddle Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Riddle Memorial Hospital Woman's Auxiliary. Inez continued her loyalty to Riddle Hospital, working as a head nurse and later as a nursing supervisor. She finished her nursing career in outpatient pediatrics. After this, she found her true calling.....as "Grammy". She was an active member of Middletown Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, and had a love for all babies and all dogs. Most of all, she was devoted to her husband and family, cherishing the times they spent together. Inez was the daughter of the late Anthony J. and Mary Roudabush Cornelius. She was the sister of the late Anthony Jackson Cornelius and wife of the late William M. Mirenda, Sr. who died January 2012. Survivors: Sons: Dr. William Mirenda, Jr. (Mary Eve) of Lewisburg, PA, Theodore Mirenda (Francesca) of Spring, Texas, and Stephen Mirenda of Hershey, PA Daughter: Catherine M. Maher (Sean) of Media, PA Sister: Catherine Bassler of Roaring Spring, PA 9 Grandchildren: Daniel (Kristin), Johanna (Jason), William, Mary Kate, Erin, Hala, Theo, Rachel and Eric Also survived by Brothers-in Law, Sisters-in Law, nieces and nephews.
