Obituary of Byron I. Royer
Byron I. "Sonny" Royer, age 71, of Upland, PA, died suddenly on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at home. Sonny was born and raised in Williamsburg, PA. He was a resident of Chester, PA, before residing in Upland, PA, for the last 37 years. He graduated from Williamsburg High School, Class of 1958 and was a graduate of Williamson Trade School, Class of 1961. Mr. Royer was the owner/operator of Royer Painting Company, until he retired in 2005.
Sonny was a past Master of the Lucius H. Scott Lodge #352 F&AM, now the Chester Lodge # 236 F&AM, and has been a Master Mason for 22 years. He was an active member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Penn Forest #21, where he was a past Grand Tall Cedar. Sonny was a member of the Nur Temple Shrine, where for several years he was a Shriner with the Fife and Drum Corp.
Sonny was a member of the former Providence Avenue United Methodist Church, Chester, PA, and a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Brookhaven, PA.
Sonny was a "Teddy Bear" of a man with a kind heart, who loved his family and friends. He was devoted to charitable organizations, especially, the Tall Cedars fight against Muscular Dystrophy.
He was the son of the late Irvin and Gladys (Showalter) Royer. He was the brother of the late Marjorie McCuller. He was married to Vivian M. Fry Royer for 38 years, before her passing in 2001. He was the father of the late Kevin B. Royer, who died in 2006.

Grandchildren: Megan, Kristin and Kenneth Royer
