Obituary of J. Harold Hughes, Jr.
J. Harold Hughes, Jr., "Josh" "Hal" age 78, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Mr. Hughes was born August 30, 1933 at Crozer Hospital. He was the son of the late J. Harold and Helen (Barnes) Hughes, Sr. Hal was a 1951 graduate of Chester High School. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1955. Hal married Claudia Birmingham Hughes in Colorado Springs, Colorado in November of 1954. Hal graduated from PMC (Widener) in 1959 and received a Master's Degree from Villanova and Temple University. Mr. Hughes worked for Chester-Upland School District for 33 years as a teacher, guidance counselor and middle school principal. Following his retirement, Hal was a volunteer at CCMC. Mr. Hughes was a member of the Scott Lodge F&AM, Lulu Shrine Temple and the Scottish Rite and also a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Earleville, MD.
He was the brother of the late Anne Hughes Harriz.

7 Grandchildren: Nathan and Patrick Hughes, Dr. Alessandra Barreiro Yancey (Brenton) and Christian Barreiro, Alexander, Danielle and Meghan Hughes
Nephew: Donald Harriz (Nancy)
Niece: Julia Harriz Myers (Bruce)
Masonic Service: 11:45am at the funeral home.
