Obituary of Carrie Ann Mack
Carrie Ann Mack, Age 61 of Aston, PA passed away on November 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Chester County Hospital after a courageous 10-year battle with Breast and Ovarian Cancer. Carrie was born at Crozer Hospital in Chester, PA to the late Alice (Patsy) Gibson Stevenson. She was the wife of William M. Mack II. Carrie was also predeceased by her mother-in-law Elsie L Mack, father-in-law William M Mack Sr, brother-in-law Michael D Mack and nephew Danny Kaufmann.
Carrie was raised in Brookhaven by her single mother, Patsy. She attended Coeburn Elementary, Brookhaven Junior High, and graduated in 1981 from Sun Valley High School where she met her future husband, William. They became high school sweethearts in their senior year and recently celebrated 39 years of marriage. Carrie earned an Associate’s degree from Keystone Business School in Springfield, PA. She held various office positions at Sun Oil in Marcus Hook, PA, Wyeth Labs in Radnor, PA, and was the office manager for Wm M Mack & Sons in Aston, PA.
In addition to her husband, Carrie is survived by two children - William M Mack III (Gabrielle), Lauren Meyer (Paul) and 6 grandchildren – Eddie, Charlotte, Josie, Cole, Willy and Caden who is due to arrive in January. Carrie is also survived by her 2 sister-friends Christine Siebenaler (Phil) and Brenda Pitts (Ken), her sister-in-law Julie Ferreri (Larry), Linda Kaufmann (Joel), Alicia Wieder (Rob), Rebecca Mack and brother-in-law James Mack (Lisa), and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Carrie loved her family to the moon and back. It was because of this love that she endured over 10 years of chemo and clinical trials. She enjoyed watching her children’s sporting events – wrestling, football, baseball, field hockey, and softball. She had a passion for cooking and really enjoyed family gatherings around the pool in the summer and bonfires in the fall. She also enjoyed summer vacations to the Outer Banks and Ocean City, MD. Carrie was able to see 4 grandchildren born in 4 years to Lauren and Will. She also loved Eddie, Will’s stepson, from day one. Her grand doggies, Cooper and Sofie, that came over to the house and helped her recuperate from chemotherapy were a great form of therapy.
Carrie was so grateful to the women that preceded her in their fight with breast and ovarian cancer that were willing and able to go through the clinical trials. It was through their pain and sacrifice that the current treatment options in cancer treatment allowed her the extra time with her family. It was with her own daughter and granddaughter’s futures in mind that Carrie agreed to participate in a clinical trial.
