Obituary of Barbara L. Brower
Barbara Lloyd Brower, born on January 20, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, peacefully passed away on October 24, 2024, in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. She was the beloved daughter of Herbert and Collette Zipf.
Barbara graduated from Pine Crest High School and studied at Florida State University. In 1955 she married Lt. Joseph McIlhenny Brower, with whom she shared a loving and adventurous life until his passing.
Barbara enjoyed her career as a Delta stewardess before raising her family, and then becoming the office manager at their family dental practice. She was known for her dedication to family, faith and friends.
A passionate traveler, Barbara cherished vacations spent with family and friends around the country but especially in Ocean City. She was an avid reader, champion gamer, pinball player, and skilled knitter.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joe, her sisters Grace and Joyce, and brother Michael.
She is survived by her three children: John Herbert Brower (Joan) of Havertown, PA, Joseph McIlhenny Brower Jr. (Denise) of Mendon, MA, and Suzanne Collette Brower of West Chester, PA. Barbara was a proud grandmother to Adam Brower (Amy), Eric Brower (Devan), Amanda Esquilin (Brian), Michelle Brower, Joseph Brower III, and Samantha Brower. She also leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Zachary Brower, Molly Brower, Logan Esquilin, Drake Esquilin, and Zoey Esquilin, along with countless cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation Saturday, November 9, 2024, 10AM at Middletown Presbyterian Church, 273 S. Old Middletown Road Media, PA.
Memorial service 11 AM. at the church.
Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer Association.
Barbara's legacy of love and family will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
