Obituary of Emerene Brennan

 

Emerene (Pancoast) Brennan passed away quietly on October 9, 2024, at her daughter’s home in West Chester, PA, four days before her 96th birthday. Emerene was born on October 13, 1928 in Chester, PA. She married Thomas Francis Brennan II on January 9, 1951 and they had eight children. Emerene is predeceased by her parents, Samuel Andrew Pancoast and Mildred Scott (MacKenzie) Pancoast; her husband, Thomas; a sister, Jane (Mitchell), two grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is survived by two sisters, Elaine DiPaola and Martha Perchalski, eight children, Deborah Arnold (Ted), Miles (Katerina), Samuel (Carol), Mildred Dixon (Tom), Thomas III (Leslie, deceased), Harry, Joseph, and Kathy McCormick, as well as 21 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

 

A graduate of Chester High School, class of 1946, Emerene was a gifted pianist and poet. After high school, Emerene worked for companies in Chester and Philadelphia, before leaving the workforce to raise her family. She was active in the North Chester Baptist Church.

Her home was always a gathering place and she was affectionately known as "Mom" to friends and neighbors alike.

 

Visitation: Friday, October 18th from 10:00-11:15AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

 

Funeral Service: Friday, October 18th at 11:30AM at the funeral home.

 

Interment: Lawn Croft Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: North Chester Baptist Church, 2331 Providence Ave., Chester, PA 19013. and/ or to the charity of your choice.
