Obituary of Marie E. Litchko

Marie E. Litchko of Boothwyn, PA, died peacefully on June 10 at the age of 88, following a brief illness.  She was born July 26, 1935 in Chester, PA, to the late Thomas and Catherine (Battle) May.  She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA in 1953.  Following graduation, Marie worked at American Viscose Corporation in Marcus Hook and at Scott Paper Company in Essington.  She was a member of St. John Fisher Church in Boothwyn.  Marie lived in the home she built with her husband for almost 60 years, surrounded by amazing neighbors and friends.

Marie had five children in six years, which kept her busy.  She enjoyed spending quality time with her beloved friends at ladies club, quilters club, and arts & crafts night.  Although she was 100% Irish, she had a special gift for making Polish stuffed cabbage, which was enjoyed by her family for decades.  Marie was a faithful fan at her grandchildren’s sports events.  Her greatest source of happiness was time on her porch, doing puzzles, sewing, watching nature in her back yard, and catching a Phillies game on tv.  Most importantly, she loved when all would gather to eat and laugh, and be together in one place. The name “Thomas Joseph” played a special part in her life, as it the was the name of her father, uncle, brother, husband, son, nephew and grandson.  No event ended until the photo of “all the Toms” was taken.

Predeceased by her parents, brother Thomas May, and husband Thomas, Marie is survived by her children Loretta (Rich) Dewees, Elaine (Wayne) Lamplugh, Thomas, John (Anne), and Marge Marvel, 12 grandchildren, a sister Kathleen Holman, and many loving nieces and nephews.
