Obituary of Shirley Postlewait

Shirley J. Postlewait, age 71, of Aston, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022. She was the beloved wife of David A Postlewait.

Shirley was born on June 23^rd, 1951, in Chester, Pa to Harold and the late Elizabeth Walker.  She graduated in 1969 from Chester High School. She married David, her high school sweetheart in 1971. They recently celebrated their 51^st Wedding Anniversary.

She was employed by the Chester Re-Development Authority and later was employed for 25 years at Bell of Pennsylvania/Verizon where she was loved and appreciated by all with whom she worked with. She retired in 2006 to be able to spend time with her family and grandchildren, whom she loved and adored.

She was an avid beach-goer and spent every summer on Long Beach Island, NJ. She loved watching her grandchildren grow and spent her time supporting them in their every endeavor: dance, sports, and music.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and her focus was always on her family. She lived her life according to that purpose.

She is predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Walker and sister Deborah Kepics.

Along with her husband David Postlewait, she is survived by her father Harold Walker of Media PA, sister Cynthia Hoover (Robert), two children, Kevin Postlewait (Amy) of Wilmington, DE, and Michael Postlewait (Alicia) of Aston in addition to three grandchildren: Cole, Madison, and Maddox.

Visitation: Monday, January 2nd after 9:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte.#352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Monday, January 2nd at 10:00AM at the funeral home.

Interment: Edgewood Memorial Park.
