Marguerite Buehler

Obituary of Marguerite B. Buehler

Marguerite B. “Peggy” Buehler, age 94, of Newark, DE, died Friday, January 10, 2020 at Somerford House & Place of Newark, DE.  Marguerite was born December 30, 1925 in Upland, PA.  Peggy was a graduate of Eddystone High School.  Peggy was a member of Upland Baptist Church.

Peggy had many jobs, first as a dance instructor for Arthur Murray Dance Studios. Then as an executive secretary for a nationally known church architect, Harold Wagner, who was part of the design team for the Air Force Chapel in Denver, Colorado.

Peggy was executive secretary for a Superior Court Judge of New Jersey, Judge Arthur Lewis. She also worked for ARCO Chemical when computers were just being introduced. She would say she’d never get the hang of this, very frustrating.

Her last job as executive secretary was with C. Erickson and Son Contracting and Design in Philadelphia. Peggy finally retired at the age of 70.

Peggy had many interests: Her love of cooking, a fabulous cook, the Julia Child of her era. She loved to sew and no pattern was too hard for her to sew. Her love of books and reading. She always had a book in her hand, mostly novels or if not a book a crossword puzzle. Peggy was a Philly girl. She loved Philadelphia and all the arts and culture it has to offer. She knew the best restaurants where to eat and the best bars to have a cocktail. One last note, Peggy never had a driver’s license. If you asked her why she would say, her feet would take her wherever she wanted to go and cheaper. We will all miss you Peggy.
